In the interest of the health and safety of our community, RGL has decided to take proactive, immediate steps to encourage gamer distancing—a practice that is encouraged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to limit the spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus. These decisions will affect faculty, staff and players for the remainder of the RGL season.
As the league begins implementing these new measures, more information will be shared via email, teamfortress.tv forum posts and the new RGL COVID-19 Updates and Guidance website, which will be updated continually with news, FAQs and resources. We appreciate your patience as the situation unfolds. Please check your email regularly throughout the day.
At this time, RGL's servers remain open, however we are taking critical steps to reduce the number of scrimmages, matches, and the density of players active on our servers while maintaining our commitment providing our services.
Immediate future:
Playoffs for this season will take not place on our servers. Sigafoo will communicate directly with faculty about alternatives. Players will hear from their administrators about any changes to their playoffs. Players who are scheduled to compete in matches through the Center for gamers with Disabilities will play matches as planned prior the coronavirus outbreak..
