so I haven't tried to make a vtf crosshair in a couple months and I tried to make one today but it isn't coming out right
I use paint.net to make the png and then import it to vtfedit to make the file, but both have had updates since last time ive used them--paint.net especially

basically, the crosshair im trying to make is coming out way blurrier than I was expecting and i dont know why--all of my crosshairs share a similar shape, yet my old ones look a lot sharper than the ones I made today

the biggest discrepancy i see between the vtf files is that my old ones have low reflectivity (https://i.imgur.com/0mBlWD2.png) whil;e my new ones have significantly higher reflectivity (https://i.imgur.com/WO7IZiU.png)

im pretty confident that I am importing the png with the right settings (they reset after the vtfedit update) so I suspect it has something to do with my paint.net settings. help.

tldr: i haven't made vtf crosshairs in a couple months and since paint.net and vtfedit updated my default settings were reset and after trying to set up both programs like i used to my crosshairs are now coming out blurry. idk why please help

for really sharp crosshairs check "point sample"
if you want something in between that and the blurry default check "trilinear"

if they're like really really blurry you're probably just missing a flag. No MipMap, No Level of Detail, No Minimum MipMap and 8bit Alpha are required. Point Sample is optional (not selecting it is like some sort of antialiasing)

i've not used VTFedit in years. I use the paint.net vtf plug-in instead which saves them directly as VTFs
