Pause menu tanks FPS.

So for the past 3 months or so i've been trying to use Linux as my main OS. but i decided to go back to windows for a bit, and for whatever reason whenever I pause the game my framerate drops to 2.

The second I unpause the fps goes back up to 100+. It didn't used to do this until just the other day. I've restarted my PC a few times and nothings changed and i've verified the integrity of my files.

Any suggestions?

Does your HUD have the friends list enabled on the menu? That can cause huge fps drops when loading in.

can confirm, i disabled/removed/minimized the friends list and i didn't get my fps issue anymore, but i don't remember how i did it
i'm sure a little bit of research could lead you in the right direction though

This (tanking framerate when going to the main menu while in a game) happens to me too but I believe it may have to do with the game trying to render all the EXP bullshit that happens after a casual game, at least because in my case I tend to hear the EXP sound effects when the FPS is being tanked.
So, for me at least, a solution would be to edit the HUD so these EXP messages dont even show up, if its even possible to do so.

I had this problem and fixed it by going into resource/ui/MainMenuOverride.res and deleting all of FriendsContainer.
