Might go to UMD since UIUC is too expensive. No idea about gatech, and rutgers is my backup. Too scared/lazy to check my carnegie admission status. A girl from my school got in, and her credentials weren't that great(then again she probably didnt apply to compsci), so I'm hopeful.

I'm a freshman at UIUC for CompE. Everything is amazing except maybe the location, we're in the middle of nowhere XD (but gotta love that fiber internet and 5 ping to Chicago servers).

Accepted to CMU, Northwestern, UCLA, Michigan.
Denied by Caltech, MIT, Columbia, Chicago, Harvard, Princeton.
Waitlisted at Cornell.
Need decisions from JHU and NYU.

I have absurd test scores (2360 SAT, 18 on USAMO, making me 68th in the country in math as of last April, etc.), but I'm lazy as fuck and don't do all my assignments. Also the school's English department is complete trash and gave me shit grades for interpreting Shakespeare incorrectly.

I'll probably end up going to CMU and doubling in Math and CS. I really liked my visit there, and they have a really good team for the Putnam. They're really good in CS, and the math program has a couple people who know graph theory well.

They were right in saying "There are only a few interpretations of Shakespeare that are widely agreed upon by critics; any other ones are wrong"?

As a graduate with his English degree, I have to say this kind of thinking is a bit frustrating. New interpretations are usually an ambitious effort from a scholar to establish themself, or a student that doesn't wish to do his research. In either case, Shakespeare's work has been so over analyzed that all legitimate interpretations have been presented.

I'm only in 8th grade so I really have no idea about college, but I already have a 32 on the ACT. I'll probably go to the best engineering school willing to give me a full ride, because I can barely afford community college.

Unfortunately, the way that engineering schools work, the only places that give full rides are small in state schools and the large big names that have massive endowments. I have the highest scholarship at my school and that barely covers half of a years tuition + room and board.

Junior @ UC Berkeley. Come here if you like to spend a lot of time studying.

And to all ye hopefuls looking to get into top schools such as MIT/Ivy Leagues, you need to have both impressive accomplishments and some luck (unless you're black/mexican/native american/poor) I believe my high school had 6 Intel Semifinalists my senior year, and only 4 of them were accepted to MIT.

Apply to some of the Canadian schools if money is tight, no reason you can't take out loans (it's worth it by far). Waterloo and UT are strong schools to name a few
