Frozen on main menu

TF2 is freezing when it gets to the main menu. I haven't had this problem in the past. I believe it has something to do with the update because I tried a system restore back to a point where TF2 was definitely working. So I launch TF2, it loads up, and as soon as I get to the main screen, I can't move my mouse and the screen freezes. I have to ctrl+alt+delete to close TF2. If anyone has been experiencing a similar issue or knows a fix, I would greatly appreciate it c:

Things I've tried:
- Validating (one file was fixed)
- Deleting my TF folder
- Restarting my computer
- System restore
- Getting rid of my launch options
- Putting -dxlevel 81 and 90 in my launch options
- Windowed mode

If anyone has any advice, I'd be super grateful! Thanks!

put warm water on your monitor when it freezes

I'll see myself out.

try a new hud. some people have problems with random crashes with huds, can't remember which ones though. might be a buggy custom menu
EDIT: Never mind, noticed you deleted your TF folder. Though you might as well just reinstall, unless that takes too long for some reason.

It happened to me aswell. Are you playing full screen? I was testing out fullscreen when it happened and going back to windowed seemed to stop it

I havn't played tf2 in a long time but I had the same problem at one point, try turning off your mumble overlay if you have it on. The recent update may have broken it. That's what fixed mine

I am playing full screen, but playing in windowed didn't seem to fix it. Disabling Mumble overlay didn't work either.

A reinstall of TF2 seems to have fixed it. Thanks to everyone for their help! c:
