At melee? No fucking point. You're competing with sweaty meatballs who've been honing ther skills in melee for literally at least 10 years, playing on fucked up stages that favor certain characters and with lopsided matchups. Your only hope is to play marth or fox, and even still you need to sink hundreds of dollars into weeklies to see real improvement.

rongolAt tf2? No fucking point. You're competing with sweaty meatballs who've been honing ther skills in tf2 for literally at least 10 years, playing on fucked up maps that favor certain characters and with lopsided matchups. Your only hope is to play scout or medic, and even still you need to sink hundreds of weeks into seasons to see real improvement.

Extremely lame mindset to have, what's the point of getting into any game?

It's so much easier to get into and improve at modern melee, that it would literally only take a few months of grinding tech skill to catch up to some of the best if you're absolutely trying your best (and abusing all the guides and knowledge currently available). The hardest part would be getting into neutrals, grinding punishes, etc. Yeah it would take a long time to be considered a top player, but to become a decent one? All it takes is a good mindset, the will to admit you make a lot of mistakes, and the motivation to improve. That goes for any game, or almost anything in life.

If you think being put 8th on your state's power ranking is "decent", then ok, I submit. You just have lower standards and shallower goals than me.

there are a couple reasons why i play tf2
1. i like to talk with friendly gamers and pugging is usually fun unless everyone is sad
2. i don't need to pay to play pugs and most tournaments
3. i don't need to feel like i've been personally insulted if someone plays super duper gay

if you're serious about this then go to locals and grind out. this applies for any game that has a local scene (guilty gear, blazblue, tekken etc etc)

don't be afraid to ask for help in your local scene as most people are there to have fun and chill, the scene is always looking to teach others.

If you want to be mentored by a falco specifically and are willing to pay like $20 or something (only if you want too) Westballz will soon be coaching/giving lessons for aspiring melee players, hit him up on twitter/during his stream
