I'm looking for good mobile games. Maybe a good 4x or grand strategy but I'll pretty much try anything if it's good. Rules:

-No pay to win IAP bs (I don't mind paying once to buy the game or optional purchases, just no games that are designed to squeeze money out of you)
-Has to have actual gameplay or a well written story. I'm looking for that PC game feel (think baldurs gate, galaxy on fire etc)
-Has to be playable on a phone sized screen and not a tablet (so no baldurs gate, galaxy on fire etc)
-No bad pc ports like gta (although good ports of turn based strategies would be acceptable, if they exist)

the world ends with you has a really great port for mobile devices although it's a bit pricey
it's also getting a switch remaster

emulators are great for phones

What platform are you on? If you're on iOS, I'd recommend the Infinity Blade series. Gameplay is excellent and perfectly suited for phone-sized touchscreen controls. The story starts off sparse but it's given proper attention, with the expanded universe novellas written by Brandon Sanderson himself. I'd say it's the closest thing I've seen to a mobile Dark Souls.

There are some good mobile ports nowadays. I recommend Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective as a pretty nifty puzzler. There's the modern adventure games like The Walking Dead and Life is Strange, if you're into those. I don't know how well the classic BioWare ports control, but they exist. Transistor too, although that's only iOS. And there's always Hearthstone.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP is great, if a bit short and straightforward. Card Crawl is pretty fun but it's quite simple, even for a card game.

My favorite mobile game is A Dark Room (I also liked its sequel, The Ensign). Gameplay-wise it's like a mashup between an idle game and rogue-like RPG with timer-based combat. It's all text-based with some ASCII graphics, but paired with the short, cold prose reminiscent of The Road and the hauntingly bleak universe, I found that my imagination did a wonderful job filling in the blanks.

Human Resource Machine is great if you're into coding and optimizing, it's block design but challenging and turns your brain gears

I pretty much only know fighting games for mobile so... Tekken is new and is a solid casual port, for a more serious mobile fighting game try KOF-i 2012(f), basically the original King Of Fighters but on mobile.

Nintendo DS is the perfect kind of console to emulate on a phone, specially the games that only use touchscreen so you can hide the HUD of the emulator (WarioWare, Kirby...)

Iatginkdownload a gba emulator and play fire emblem

I found the mobile version of Fire Emblem very enjoyable and playable, even if it pales in comparison to the ACTUAL games. But not everyone will be into it in that form.
