So for the region, it seems like it's easiest just to make a Plains region and go from there. I think we should make a river throughout it.

I'm going to go ahead and start sharing the map. All you have to do is make a separate shortcut for SC4 and redirect the user directory to the folder. I'll update the first post with info.

Go ahead and post if you'd like to be added, and message me through Steam or IRC.

Also something to note: The three large lands are off-limits for now. If I find that someone is building there, I will destroy the city.

I actually have the retail version. I just add the game to Steam (Add Non-Steam Game) and add the UserDir launch option to the target. I assume you can do that with the Steam version, just like you would with TF2.

Origin, however, is a different beast. It seems like you can't change launch options, but maybe, since it's an older game, it doesn't require Origin to run and you can just use the .exe. If so, add it to Steam and then set the target to the proper UserDir. If not, then maybe you can change some config settings, but then you'd have to change the line/swap out configs if you want to play singleplayer.
