everything in this thread is probably true in one aspect or another.

If you're as aware of it as you appear to be, maybe attempt to not be insufferable, I dunno.

Real answer: He posted a few things here and there and they ended up being the COMPLETELY wrong things to post if you aren't Invite. So when he makes an average post, we downvote it, and when he makes a dumb post we basically nuke it.

Any purpose behind this? I mean we all know about him but why give him the time and day just to downvote him?

Well if you've already read the post, it takes 0 effort to just hit the '-' button.

tbh he's actually an okay player. he's just such a douchebag that no one can stand him, always talking shit on mic or just raging in general. If he stopped being such a shitlord people might put up with him, but at this point it might be too late since basically everyone hates him now.

I downvote him for a variety of reasons:

1) When he posts something stupid.

2) When he misrepresents himself.

For example, I've pugged on his team a couple times, and the first time Shwan, an IM pocket soldier who's been playing competitive tf2 so something like 3 years now was coaching us. Salty not only disrespected him and didn't listen to calls, but he also partook in absolutely idiotic plays that even if successful would not have benefited our team in any way (for example, going alone as scout into the upper lobby of badlands last when the rest of our team was defending last).

Shwan explained why that was bad and how it could easily end in losing a round, and salty did not listen and acted like his "knowledge" of tf2 was better than everyone else's.

He blatantly raged and acted extremely immature the other times I pugged with him and when he posts on the forums trying to act like he knows something about the game, or that he is a good teammate and is looking to improve yada yada, I downvote it because I feel like it is disingenuous and can possibly lead to regrettable decisions.

I will change my opinion of him if I talk to him, play with him, and see his posting and attitude about tf2 improve (like my opinion of BamBam, a known hacker, who I've talked to and played with since he got caught, and I think he's making better decisions in the community now). Just bringing that up as an example because my opinion of a person is not hard to change, just that right now, salty sally is not moving in the right direction.

I'll say one last thing for anyone reading this that is new in the community, but just understand that in a team game, you have to be nice and make good impressions at the beginning. Once you are established and have people to play with regardless of what you say, you can talk shit about whoever you want, but until you have established yourself as a good player and more importantly, teammate, you are on dangerous ground in the community and can easily be entirely shut out of the competitive community.
