Any way to remove the laser dot from sniper scope?

Pretty much the title. Is there any way I can remove the red/blue laser dot from the snipers scope?
I realize you can't stop it from being visible to other players, since that would be cheating, but is it possible to make it invisible for myself? Maybe mess with some animation files or something?

Go to advanced settings in your main menu then keep going down until it says hide dot when zoomed in or something like that. Then tick it and click ok.

That's how you remove your crosshair when zoomed, you can't remove the dot this way

why would you want to remove it? it lets you know if you're looking at a spy because it gets bigger the closer you are to something
