ok so i got a new laptop like 2 days ago (hp notebook) and recently like half the youtube videos (and sometimes other videos like vines, etc.) i want to watch end up looking like this:

i've tried disabling my dark youtube chrome extension and removing my adblocker but idk man
it also looks like this in something like watch2gether

i dont think this is the case because it seems to be random videos; i can watch one broken video then immediately go to a different video that is perfectly fine for no apparent reason, and again then go watch a broken video

That looks like a decoder failure, try to see if you can update video codecs, browser, hardware drivers.
