Has anyone noticed the delay when you switch loadouts or weapons?
Its always a few seconds and its quite annoying for me
Is it because the item server is in north america? Sometimes i change the items and they dont even switch

Is your PC good? Highquality item images in some huds also load slower.

I've had this issue intermittently. Pretty sure it's just related to item servers. Incidentally, it's a pretty terrible system considering it can completely screw you over in matches when it just decides to not work when you need to switch loadout quickly. Valve really should rework it.

It definitely comes from the servers.

I think the game checks every couple seconds for your loadout, or refreshes instantly when you hit a cabinet. If your life depends on a loadout change you could have a script to change class to random then back to your intended class to force a refresh. However if you play demo you'd lose your trap that way.

Best bet is walking to the cabinet, or switching while you're dead.

Slightly OT, the more skins you own the longer your item list takes to load. Which is annoying because i used to have a lot of miscellaneous skins, which I had to sell because they turned equipping items into a 20 second elevator ride. add that on to the in-game delay of loadouts changing and it's very annoying

do you guys think that at some point all unlocks (not reskins) should be in your inventory by default? if they put some effort into it they could make it so you get those weapons by playing classes in pubs/matchmaking.
this will make it so you can even use them when the item servers are down too
