Fps problem

Basically , when i start tf2 i get pretty good fps (solid 110 +) but after like 10 mins of playing my fps goes to shit , 60 and less , and it becomes really unstable .
any ideas of why this is happening / ways to fix it ?

TF2 isn't really GPU intensive so make sure that your CPU fan is working right

you playing on a laptop by any chance?
if you are then try capping your cpu usage at around 80%, it'll help prevent overheating thus make performance more consistent
