Getting back into the game

After about 3 years of absence from the game, i am looking to delve right back in. Is there somewhere i can find a group of people for comp matchmaking?

I also noticed tf2lobby doesn't exist anymore. Is there a good alternative that is populated?

I am a NA medic player eagerly looking for people to play with. I use to play on CEVO. At the current time i would rate my skill low.

There is tf2center.com and tf2stadium.com for general lobbies. There's the matchmaking and casual you can also do. However, if you're looking to play pretty serious games, https://na.pug.champ.gg/ is pretty good. That's about all really.

Center is way more populated. You could try UGC 6s if you want to get back into serious (scrims, same teammates, etc) without paying. If you want to learn/relearn comp tf2 I recommend Marxist's and Mr Slin's videos, they are conveniently both med mains.

Fantastic youtube resource thanks for posting that WindCubes.

I'll keep my on center as i see currently it has quite a few NA's player. Should be better during prime time and not 2 A.M. Thank you for the links!

One more question. Is the in-game competitive mode ignored? I figured it would be decent practice. But boy i was wrong. the majority of players there don't know how to roll out or what classes to choose. and from what i've gathered from reading around, not many people seem to be happy with the mode.

The in game matchmaking system just came out and is not very good yet.

You're going to have to wait until the ranks settle in, and even if they do I'm not sure the playerbase is enough to match everyone fairly.

they need placement matches for matchmaking so invite players don't play against players with 200 hours.

I'm sure there's quite a bit of hype around matchmaking so the playerbase could grow a bit. Nowhere near CSGO levels though.

Only if Valve doesn't fix it soon.

And they won't.

Let's hope they give some love to the community. seems like not much has changed all these years. But i like that there does seem to be more love for tf2 than before.
