hard to believe Knife Man came out in 2009. the only good album in their awkward transition between deliberately over-dark folk-punk and hackneyed pop-punk.

I haven't listened to AJJ in a while but I'm stoked on this new album.

People Who Can Eat People are the Luckiest People in the World is right up there with Knife Man for me. This song isn't bad, but it's missing that rawness and strangeness that really differentiated the band.

bumping this thread because the album is almost fully released on their bandcamp: https://ajjtheband.bandcamp.com/

(it has also fully leaked, but idk if I'm allowed to post a link to the download)

listened to it 3 times. Its basically a much better CI. Where CI still held on to most of the early AJJ style to the point that the instrumentation and lyricism felt under-developed, its pretty clear Sean has managed to really figure out what he wants to do with a full band. I'm still getting into the lyrics but they seem much better than CI and on par with Knife Man and People. Might be hype but I'd tentatively put this as one of their best albums, nearly as good as People and a bit better than Can't Maintain and way better than Knife Man.
