good thread

the top 2 things i look for are consistent comms and humility.

comms are like 50% of the game and it's one of the easier things to get down so it's a pretty good foundation.

as for humility, having a teammate who is unable to say "yeah guys, i fucked up. my bad" makes it really hard to get past obstacles. on the same note its equally as annoying when someone constantly fucks up but thinks saying sorry makes up for it without actually needing to improve.

that's usually how it goes but it doesn't necessarily mean nobody will consider you if you're unknown but you have to put in the effort to get noticed by performing well

are you friends with or could you be friends with this person

are they +/- your division in skill level

literally the only two things that matter, and #1 is way more important than #2

Attitude, overall skill, and dedication are all very important things

Other than that, I make sure the player fits well with the rest of the team in terms of personality. If someone doesn't mesh well with the team, they're not likely to stay in the long run, making them a less favorable pickup. I think people don't consider this enough.

It's a pretty small community and at prem/high level (not that I would know) most people have heard of each other or have mutual friends. I imagine it's a surprise if you have never heard of or have a friend that knows a player at the top end of the divs.
