Jitter Issue

So, I was in tr rocket shooting warming up and the game was running smooth as can be. The moment I joined a server, however, everyone in the game is stuttering/jittery, as well as my projectiles.

I left the server, created a new game, and it was totally smooth.

Joined a server, and back to jittery projectiles again.

Things I've tried:

1) Deleted my autoexec, went back to default.
2) Updated Vid Drivers.
3) Deleted entire config folder

Any thoughts?

yes, the issue is related to my account, not tf2 itself. like I said, if I log in with my alt account, the game is smooth. it's only when I log in with my main account that the graphics jitter. how do I delete everything associated with that account? I don't remember lol

something in your command line parameters? they get saved per account, so it's possible that they differ

steam cloud was disabled for the account with jitters, enabled for the account without them... gonna screw with steam cloud a bit and see what happens.

I'm not entirely sure what my command line parameters are.

If it's really the account, which seems weird, back up and delete the affected user's folder at Drive:\Steam\userdata\somenumber.

I'll report back on this later, but I think I fixed it.

Somehow, vertical sync got unlocked in my nvidia control panel. After I forced it back on, the game is smooth as can be. I should've realized this sooner because all of the jittering I was experiencing was horizontal movement.

You probably don't want vsync on though. It can give you horrendous input lag.
That indicates that the jitter is a variable framerate issue, possibly something that could be fixed by capping/not capping fps? I don't see how that would be an issue on one account but not another, but it might be a combination of fps capping and a different setting as well.
Try setting a limit for fps_max if you don't have one set, or set it to 0 if you do have one.

Nah... I set my pre-rendered frames to 1 and have been totally fine. No input lag at all.

I tried toying with capping my frames before I screwed with vsync. Made no difference.

If you're curious what it looked like... when I fired a sticky, the sticky would wobble side to side in rapid fashion as it traveled. all opponents and teammates models did it too. same thing would happen at 90 fps as 299 fps.
