shorasIs it not a thing anywhere else?..

i dont think so.. and it doesn't happen in etf2l often either right? i just thought this would be a really fun way to start games off, just like csgo knife rounds.

It's used to decide attack/defense isn't it?

Seeing the same thing play out all the time makes the game much longer than it needs to be. Knife rounds at least have a legitimate purpose of picking ct side first for 90% of the maps. Having heavies fight every once in a while is fine for like meme poot value but like starting every match like that is awful for everyone involved.

Makes a difference on very few maps. Only ones I can think of are viaduct where there's a legitimate reason because the map isn't rotationally symmetrical and so there's spam angles you can peek with rockets on one side not the other (particularly connector).
Other maps have some props that are on one side of the map but not the other that you can hide stickies in (I think snakewater and granary have this?) but they're mostly not that useful traps and pretty fringe cases.
I don't see the point in doing this every game.

Maybe if we still played GPit this could have a purpose.

Or in playoff games where there are ban/picks for maps, a winner of pootis fight could decide if they ban first etc...

As if a knife round in CS looks much more serious.

The changes are very subtle/mostly useless but most maps are different on each side eg gullywash mid you can only hide on one side, process lobby you can only hide on one side, snakewater 2 outside lobby you can only hide on one side.

How can you not be entertained with 12 people running around a point and yelling "pootis" while beating each other?

why not make it a serious thing and have a regular mid fight, the team that wipes the other wins.

they could also play a round of dustbowl and the winner gets a 2-0 handicap

it just makes the game longer for no good reason. the dustbowl idea is just stupid

I honestly love when this happening just for the sake of it, of course it doesn't really matter what side are you on since it's rarely makes difference but it's a nice way to hype the game up a bit; and it's still really useful in (lol)hl too

to all people that think heavyfights dont make tf2 look serious and we gotta be all grumpy tryhard faces - we just gotta be ourselves and surely play this seriously but also have a bit of fun just because it's a sin not to have fun in a game where you got a fat russian man screaming 'pootis' and punching his clones with frying pan

I never thought that I would use the word "pootis" together with "competitive" in a sentence until now (in a serious way at least)...
