I was under the impression that font sizes were only an issue for Macs because of how Macs render fonts.

Same here. Generally Windows and Linux HUDs are interchangeable.

ive had problems before with font sizes/baselines being different between windows and linux machines, unless i did something horribly wrong last time i got my hands on a windows pc and tested my hud

I'll be home in a few hours and I'll take screenshots of your HUD with plenty of different settings, just in case.

1366x768 windows 8

Difference blended with yours

Only visible differences are some slightly different positioning for the bigger bits of text (the second and third rows are the same), and the outline on windows fully encloses it while the linux one leaves some spaces open. Pretty interchangable but not pixel-perfect identical either.

JarateKing-snip-

thanks so much! i guess i musta messed up something last time i tested, thats way more similar than i expected. i wonder why outlining text on the linux client looks so bad compared to the windows client...

if someone wanted to do it on a macintosh, thatd be cool although idk how many tf2 players actually run on osx
