hello, i've been having a problem recently with my keyboard and mouse. at random times they will just stop responding and i'm forced to reboot. i've tried switching usb sockets when this happens, and the devices are picked up by windows but for some reason "drivers do not successfully install." my computer doesn't freeze outright, just the keyboard and mouse stop working.

i've searched google but have been unable to find a solution. is this a problem with my motherboard/usb sockets or with drivers?

mobo: msi z77a-gd65 gaming
mouse: logitech g700s/zowie am (doesnt matter, they both freeze)
keyboard: razer blackwidow 2013
everything else using usb: gamepad, printer, corsair link

z77?

by any chance, did you mess with your base clock, if you overclocked?

I have the same problem, mouse sensor just freezes at random times while playing TF2. LMB and RMB works though.

Okay, since that doesn't work, you might want to try changing your your USB controller drivers. Do you know which one you have?

sorry about the small necro, i wanted to update with my solution. reinstalling/updating usb drivers (which windows 10 did as it upgraded my computer) fixed this problem. i also noticed that the microusb connected to my mouse was slightly loose which may have made things worse.

i've seen more and more of these (usb-related issues) pop up since people started to switch to win10..
great :/

I got the exact same problem too. It usually only happens when gaming (played tf2 and minecraft, isse occured in both games) but after replugging my devices they usually work again, but only for a limited time. I i disabled usb selective suspend and everything was fine for a few days after that. The issue returned yesterday and nobody i spoke to knows anything about it.
I really have no idea what the heck is wrong, maybe its because my pc is getting old but still no idea -.-
