I'm recording a bunch of voice lines to replace the TF2 announcer lady. They're recorded at the proper bitrates/channels/volume and when I "Create my own server" to practice, they come in just fine. So in that sense, it works. Yay.

But they didn't work when I played on the Reddit Chicago server yesterday. SV_pure was 0, I checked. I haven't tested it on other servers/Valve servers yet, but I'm worried it won't work with any of them.

So does this sound like a single-server issue, or am I doing something wrong with the install?

Other then hitsounds I don't think you can alter any sounds with sv_pure 0. It's to prevent people from altering things like the spy decloaking sound. It should work on STV's though.

When you are in the reddit server can you use the play command to play them?

As in play ruffriders.wav or play ui/gamestartup1.wav

Open "team fortress 2 content.gcf" in gcfscape and check sounds/vo for the titles of the sound files you want to change. Then just rename you wav sound files and put them in your tf folder in sound/vo or where ever the sound file was. If that's what you did I'm stumped.

Yep, that's what I did. I will try to play the sounds like Killertomato suggested later today.

However, the sounds work fine on a Skial server. Seems to be a server-side issue.

As I said on twitter, I need to re-record most of it to get the volume up without causing crackly gainy shit. Will have to wait until my new sound equipment arrives.
