A nuke remake would be cool. I feel like this will be terribly received at first, but once people learn to play the new train a bit better they will embrace it. As long as they make it well known that Nuke isn't permanently gone I don't see any issues. If they do intent to remove Nuke for the foreseeable future people make freak out.

It's actually good news. Nuke in it's current state in csgo is just bad, and if they're taking it out temporary it means they're remaking the map and tweaking it like they did with train.

it's still playable, it will just be in the reserves list which means valve sponsored tournaments wont play it.

yeah you say that now, but they completely butchered train. it went from the classic version to slightly tweaked (which was ok) to a complete overhaul in the worst way possible. i seriously hope they don't fuck up nuke that bad....slight changes/fixes like they did with overpass is fine but thats it

I personally like the new train, sure's its artstyle is questionable for a "serious" game like csgo and I seem to miss the classic vibe but the gameplay changes are good

Yeah I really hope that they don't butcher Nuke as badly as they did Train, but I think there is a potential for some real improvements. I guess I just think wishfully when it comes to Valve, it's pretty likely they'll completely fuck up Nuke.

Why can't they just keep both?

Dr_DjonesWhy can't they just keep both?

as far as I know most leagues have an 8 maps per season setup

Honestly I find it a little strange that nearly all the maps in rotation are either midly ct sided or extensively ct sided. Only one map gives a small edge to t side and people still argue if it's a big enough difference to matter outside of top invite level play.

It seems like you might have a more t-sided map in rotation, especially considering the likes of de_nuke and de_train

The entire game is CT sided, the maps just emphasize that. It is nearly impossible to make a T sided map in the current meta with insanely strong close range pistols and smokes that are hard to push through and that last for a long time.

Thorin made a great video summarizing some of the reasons for the CT sidedness of the entire game

I think this is what they are doing to make some changes, then put it back into rotation. Could you imagine if they changed it around between competitions?

FanofAngelsThe real question is, why the fuck not cobble???

I feel like with nuke they'll be able to do more of an "updated" artpass as well, which is probably the main attraction of doing this ( to a team that picks its own work entirely). Its look and feel is so in line with older versions of CS that they probably want to bring it kicking and screaming into the new age of CSGO. Cobble got a bit more of that treatment when it was ported to global offensive in the first place, so it probably doesn't stand out as much as something that needs an overhaul (in their eyes, anyway).

Cobble hasn't been removed despite all the outcry for it because someone at valve loves that map and wants to do everything they can to fix it, like when they shortened B and removed the backsite

Am I the only person that feels cobble b site is fucking terrible to hold and retake. In pugs so far is rush b and win because you get there faster than CTs and there's like nowhere to fucking hide.

I actually like old cobble b more.

cobble is really awful, new train is awful, overpass is mediocre.

nuke is great

if they are worried about how all maps are ct sided, maybe they shouldn't extend the balcony on mirage, put metal doors on dust2, etc.

dunno why they keep changing perfectly good maps
