I dunno, I'm really not a big fan of how techy and modern Korra has gotten. I really liked the original because it had that globe-trotting adventure feel and focused on developing every character. Plus just the whole spiritual/folklore vibe was really cool too. Seeing some giant cg mech with a laser just doesn't scare me as much as a dude bending the air out of someone's lungs...

Or blood bending. I mean, in the original avatar special bending abilities were rare (lightning, mind bending, healing, air bending, metal bending) but now it just seems like they want everything bigger and more extreme instead of simplistic things that made the original so exciting. Season 3 was really fun tho.

tetrominoand focused on developing every character.

ok this is coming from someone who has asami as their favorite character, but when you're given half a season and an incredibly low budget for your series, it's actually impossible to do something like this. you aren't given liberties with filler episodes like ATLA's "the beach."

don't get me wrong, i'd do anything to get any sort of development for my girl. but as it stands, it wouldn't be feasible, and i think it's unfair to bryke to compare their series like this because of nick's terrible treatment of korra.

(asami actually had very subtle and good development but i wish it was shown more ;_;)

Korrasami 100% confirmed. To people who say it's just a friendship thing, I don't hold hands and look intensely into the eyes of my friends just saying.

I don't think i can handle this.... I just started watching and holy shit this action.

I think that was a good ending for it. In a sad kinda way i am glad it's done cause it can no longer be fucked over by Nickelodeon.

Man. ATLA people were all going out of parachutes if they got hit. No parachute for Hiroshi :(

Also, that entire robot sequence was extremely well-choreographed and well-animated, It just didn't rank up with a lot of fight scenes. The Korra vs Kuvira was A+ though

Nice parallel between Aang and Kuvira though with how they deal with their finale antagonist. Understanding them and not killing them even after all the horrible things they did.

I will say that I enjoyed that they made Korra so passive in this finale though. She was looking for a fight and in the finale she was the calm, reasonable voice. Aang was a kid who enjoyed having fun and hated fighting, in the finale we saw him go bad-ass Avatar. A+ show Dante DiMartino.

If they were to make another Avatar series, I'd be in my 20s and I'd still watch the shit of that.

Great ending to a great show. The best thing for me was how it evolved the Avatar world and had such a different feel from the original series. It didn't try to do the same thing again. I mean who would've thought the avatar after Aang would be fighting a giant nuclear cannon mecha in a modern metropolis. I loved it.

Also I never care about romantic pairings but having Zhu Li/Varrick and Korra/Asami end up together the way they did was very sweet.

Nice ending, Zhu Li and Varrick scenes were a few of my favorites and despite my dislike for Kuvira, she got a nice hair style in the end.

I want this and don't want this at the same time. ATLA and LOK was great and ended pretty well, I want more but I'm too scared that the main protagonist won't live up to expectations ;_;. Such is sequels.

Gotta say props to the writers and producers at the Avatar team. Really nice ending which was difficult to tie up given the huge conflict to resolve and the many different characters to set a nice path for. Especially kudos for being so bold as to write up that ending. Of course, there was no kiss so no one can be entirely sure but I mean come on. Their relationship had been building astronomically since Asami became Korra's 'girl friend'. Not girlfriend, but girl... oh you know what I mean. Best friends who could confide in each other turned into something a bit more.

Also, Korra patched things up with Mako and it was clear there was no more romantic interest there anymore. Mako and Korra are now just friends, albeit the best of friends who have each other's backs no matter what. The ending scene also mirrored that of ATLA's ending with Aang and Katara kissing each other before the sunset, which has got count for something, right?

I actually really like that the producers have left things ambiguously. That's one of the joys of these things, to be interpreted differently by different people. This also leaves some unanswered questions which may be answered in the (confirmed) upcoming comics!!! Apparently no plans of a naturally earth-bending avatar :'( but we've been given more than enough already. Now to look forward to the ATLA comics coming out next year!

Just watched it.

Few thoughts on the LOK finale:

Show Content
- Korra vs. Kuvira round 2 was spectacular. The bending inside the giant robot's head was IMO one of the best in either series.

- Asami getting over her father's death was awkwardly quick.

- Tenzin's final interaction with Korra felt very genuine.

- The whole KorrAsami thing felt thrown in. If others were happy about it then congrats, but I didn't really care for the ending because romance (aside from Varrick & Zhu Li relationship) in this series was either bad or unnecessary.

My thoughts on the series as a whole:

Show Content
- The animation, sound, and voice acting were all very well done.

- The narrative is what suffered the most due to being focused on plots that end season by season and its mostly Nickelodeon's fault. Piss-poor management of the series.

- There were so many side-characters that interacted with the main cast (LOK's Team Avatar) individually that it REALLY didn't feel like they were that close at all up until the end. I felt that only Asami and Tenzin developed a truly great relationship with Korra as close-friend/lover and teacher/father-figure. Bolin had the Zaufu family and Mako was relegated to ex-boyfriend/bodygaurd status.

- Varrick was the best god damn character in the show.
