I have been considering getting a razer Blackwidow, especially now that it comes with rainbows. Can anyone tell me what their experience has been with this keyboard? Is it worth the whopping $169.99?

Never used one aside from floor models but no. They come with cheaper non-Cherry switches despite being more expensive. You should be able to get a Quickfire keyboard for less than $110.

been using the POKER II for about a month after my Leopold TKL died (rip) and i like it a lot. sometimes its a challenge to get a certain symbol or function to work, but all in all I'd recommend it to someone who is looking for an ultra space-saving option

no razer product in existence is worth that much, if you're gonna spend that much get a filco

Looking for a good mechanical keyboard to replace my almost broken Razer lycosa. Came across the CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate but I can only find the red backlight version, which I don't like..

Also came across the Ducky Zero DK2108, which I can order with Cherry red or brown. Not having used either before, anybody know the difference between red & brown? The backlight version of that is on the eXpensive side but I can just go for no backlights which is just fine in terms of price. Don't know that brand though, but it looks good. Defenitely looking for a full layout with numpad, media keys.. Can also go for the Steelseries 6Gv2 but for some reason I don't like the look of it.

Any ideas? Ducky keyboards any good? Price max ~100 euros, ~50 hours use per week (so needs to be somewhat solid :P )....

Ducky keyboards are a very good and reputable brand. Both reds and browns have a ~45g actuation force, so quite light if you're unaccustomed (for comparison membrane, used by the lycosa, is around ~65g actuation). Reds are entirely linear, meaning there is no tactile bump or audible click when pressing the key from rest to bottoming out. Browns have a light tactile bump 2mm through the travel path (halfway down and where the key actuates at) and no audible click.

This (http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/official-mechanical-keyboard-guide) is a very nice guide put together by some folks over at overclock. I'd really recommend reading over it if you're interested in choosing from various switches/build materials/keyboards. Or you can add me if you'd like, I'm not the greatest of help put I'm sure I could answer some questions.

Maybe I should message lemon about changing the OP around, it could include some better keyboards and maybe some basic links for those who want to do some research before buying.

soneyI'm finding the lack of an extended return key extremely odd.

when i said

PharaohI always find it interesting seeing ISO when typically only I see ANSI.

this is what i was referring to. the most notable differences being the enter key and the left shift.

Currently using a KUL Brown Ten Key Less, and I would say it's the best keyboard I've ever used after my CM storm died. Honestly, I would say if you're investing on a Mechanical Keyboard, invest on better brands such as WASD, KUL, Leopold, and Duckys. Cheaper keyboards obviously are lower quality and some are prone to break like my old CM storm. :x

I have a WASD semi custom + realforce 104U, they're pretty nice. Haven't come to feel the realforce was worth the $230 after tax for it, but it's nice. WASD semi customs were discontinued but it's also nice (I still need to buy some lube for one of the keys). WASD Semi custom's LED's are way too strong though. Also, getting used to the variable force realforce layout is weird because it's ridiculously easy to hit "w" "a" etc, but "s" and "d" are rock hard in comparison. Saving $20 by not getting a fixed force wasn't worth it (and it was already that much).

EDIT: Also note it only took 1.5 years to completely erode "asd" from the bottom keyboard.

Does anyone own this? http://codekeyboards.com/

I've been interested in the version with clear switches for a long time, but they have been forever out stock, but even though they are in stock now, I'm hesitant because there is no ISO-Layout avaiable.

would love to hear some experience.

QFR is cheap and decent quality, if you want a step up (with a corresponding step up in price) i'd go for a Filco
