So what is Epigenesis? Well it's a fast paced, Action packed, Tug of war, Team based, Twitch shooter with a twist.

In Epigenesis, two teams face off in an attempt to plant a ball inside an enemy's goal more times in ten minutes than the opposition across a platformed ravine. The arenas aesthetically resemble something out of Tron but play like something out of Quake. Each player is given a non-lethal laser with two modes: rail (an instant, focused beam which pushes/pulls enemies back) and Poff (a mode which fires a missile-like projectile which travels slowly but produces an explosion that pushes back enemies a lot). The gun is a key part of both offense and defense -- pushing an enemy back and causing them to fall off a ledge or preventing them from landing on one in the first place spells instant death, producing a 5-second respawn timer. In addition, hitting an enemy who's in the air with your melee attack sends them straight downward, and if they fail to land on a platform? Splat.

So why play Epigenesis? For one it's something new while it has similarities to other games it is very unique. It is a great game for Esports have two ways to win a match (either you can outlast your opponents by scoring more then them in 10 minutes or capturing the opponents spawn through a tug of war style tower building system)

Ramown and I mastered this game and had amazing strats for it back during i49. There was unfortunately about -1 people playing anytime I ever tried. Hopefully, I can sneak some games in now between TF2 and Binding of Isaac.

Glad to see an old player here! I should let you know that the community is getting back on it's feet. There are PuGs held every saturday @1pm CST and there is a tournament coming up in december. (Time and date TBA)

While it seems like a cool game the player stats on steam are not exactly awe inspiring, I'd probably rather put my 10 bucks in reflex cause at least I know some day there will be a scene for it.

Also this guy signed up to the forums just to post this so seems a bit disengenuous.

I had never heard of this forum until today, a friend of mine told me I might get a good reception here.

As for Reflex it is an awesome title that i look forward to playing but Epigenesis is a very different title built around a very different premise.

As for the player stats i'm not actually sure what you are referring to (maybe the steam reviews?) But I assure this game is worth the $10 or you could wait till the winter sale were it will undoubtedly be cheaper.

Bought it in early access a long time ago, its a neat game and the devs have alot of cool things but it never got the attention to keep an active playerbase.

While its a good game, its dead.

It isn't like shootmania except for the fact its a FPS

Ya the game did go through a period of being dead however we have a growing community now with PuGs on Saturday @1pm cst and they last about 3 hours on average also we have a large tournament coming up next month (Time and date are still TBA)

shruggerwhat is a twitch shooter???

This is the Wiki on Twitch gameplay
Twitch gameplay is a type of video gameplay scenario that tests a player's reaction time. Action games such as first-person shooters often contain elements of twitch gameplay. For example, Quake III Arena requires quick reaction times for the players to shoot enemies. Other video game genres may also involve twitch gameplay. For example, the puzzle video game Tetris gradually speeds up as the player makes progress.

Twitch gameplay keeps players actively engaged with quick feedback to their actions, as opposed to turn-based gaming that involves waiting for the outcome of a chosen course of action. Twitch can be used to expand tactical options and play by testing the skill of the player in various areas (usually reflexive responses) and generally add difficulty (relating to the intensity of "twitching" required).

atmoI hate space maps so much.

I understand your pain the maps and this game are rather unforgiving to new players but on the bright side we will be getting mod support for Epigenesis soon and one of the first things that will come out of that is a beginner friendly maps.

It's pretty cool I guess. Not many players on anymore but when you get into a full game it's a blast. Very high skill ceiling, as is the case for these types of things.
