Lighting moving on the floor etc when I do

The best way I can describe this is. When I walk forward I can see 4 rows of lighting that move away from me as I walk. I can also see this lighting move on objects it really throws you off tract sometimes.

Can anyone help me fix this issue, greatly appreciated in advance.

i believe there's one other command affecting this. (sorry for being quite unhelpful, because i can't remember which one.)

i think that if a certain command is set to 1 or >0, then mat_trilinear will be ignored.
i'm sure that a few google searches will get you there.

Game looks darker, what exactly did that do, It's filtering 3x now instead of two?
