I'm looking to buy either
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B002GHIPYI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AEKLTLI2UGXLS

Or

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0013OWPV4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with either headphone or recommend something different in a similar price range ($40 - $60)

I don't know much about the price range, in terms of other options, but between the two I'd recommend the Superlux.

What do you want in a headphone? Bassy or flat response? In-ear, on-ear, or over-ear? Open or closed design?

Don't care about design, mid bass/treble, not overly bassy.
Over ear noise cancelling.

I have the superlux ones. Good sound quality all around and the bass is very good, might be a little overly bassy. They're also small so they might be uncomfortable if you have a big head. Noise cancellation is not that good since they're open headphones. Overall the sound quality is really good for the price.

I've had the SR850s for over a year now, and they are awesome for the price. I compared them to my friend's m50's and for me, the difference was only there if you looked for it.
They are really big and look a bit goofy

Both cans in op are good, superlux probably sound a bit better and rx700s more comfortable
