Anyone know a good way to get high quality screenshots from in game? I am trying to use it on a hud but I don't know what would be best. I was considering going in lawena and taking it from there but I don't know if resolution affects the screenshot when i convert it to vtf.

If you're planning on using jpegs instead of TGAs, then enter

jpeg_quality 100

and the command to take a screenshot is

jpeg

which you'll need to bind to a key so that you can take screenshots without the console in the way.

A comprehensive list of commands to use to change everything to the highest settings might be hard to come by, so I would suggest saving your configs somewhere and then just cranking everything up to full in the GUI menu. You're going to want the max AA and texture quality, and put HDR on.

if you want, you can download chris' maxquality config, which optimizes the console commands beyond just what the GUI can change

Where does the game save the jpegs?

UltrazWhere does the game save the jpegs?

Just try it and search the tf folders, why would you even ask that? It's tf/screenshots by the way.
