Is there any way to configure the thumb buttons? I've searched around and haven't found anything. Apparently there is no "zowie software" but does anyone have a workaround?

Yes, I'd like to reassign the thumb buttons to different keys basically. Right now they only function as a forward/back inside of my browser.

I'm not sure anything is built in to windows, but X-Mouse Button Control should let you do whatever you were thinking of.
