This should probably go in hardware but whatever, i recently got myself a logitech g400 and the scroll wheel is utter shit, then i asked myself, does anyone even use the scroll wheel in comp. tf2 anyway? for changing weapons of course, if you don't, it'd be awesome if you'd post what binds you use for switching weapons. I seriously can't get used to the number keys though.
(also, not really hating on the g400 scroll wheel, i think mine's broken, its not working properly as i mentioned in another thread)

um, wasn't really looking for scroll wheel binds, but binds that allow you to switch weapons and are comfortable, w/ out using the scroll wheel... sorry for not explaining it very well.

I use mouse4 and mouse5, and q is melee.
scrollwheel is sh1t on M$ mice, so much so that I physically removed it

I use the mousewheel to play spy on pubs, wheelup = disguise as enemy something, wheeldown = disguise as friendly something
classes disguised cycle through normal speed movement classes

I also use mwheelup to destroy and build sentry gun when playing gunslinger engi, achieve rage on HL lobbies

I have q switch between slot 1 and 2. And to switch to my melee I either use scroll wheel or 3. Its how Ive been playing for years so I stick with it

It depends on what games I play. Some games have certain abilities/mechanics that use up keys that I would typically use for weapon slot binds in other games. For example, CoD4 allows you to lean, but it's set to Q and E (lean honestly doesn't feel right on any other keys), but you only switch to 1 other weapon, so I have it on something like Mouse4/5.

On a game like RAGE where you end up equipping like 200 different items near endgame, I have to end up using keys like C, V, T, G, but I only bind those to the equips that I'll use the least. In that game, I'm even forced to bind 1/2/3, but I bind those to the equips I rarely use.

e for primary

scroll wheel click for melee, holding the scroll wheel in will take out my melee and autofire until I let go of it, which stops firing and switches to my previous weapon

m2 = lastinv

melee = 3

mousewheel down = slot2, up = slot1 (to reset lastinv)

any class with alt fire has it set to m2 and then I use mousewheel to switch weapon

I have E bound to switch between primary and secondary. 3 is my melee key. Q is medic call. For classes that have more than 3 weapons, I use the keys surrounding WASD.
