#1 Transparent Viewmodels [Idea] in TF2 General Discussion

I have an idea I've been siting on, and I would like to hear what others think of it.

Some people, like me, have a love-hate feeling about viewmodels. They are useful to have so you know what you are doing, but detrimental to have due to the blind spots. What if we had Transparent viewmodels? That way you can see the viewmodel AND be able to see through it. There could be a slider in advanced options (and a console command) that can adjust the transparency of the viewmodels from 100% (fully visible) to 0% (not visible) and everything in between. That way people can adjust the transparency so if feels just right for them.

I was considering emailing valve this idea since it is so simple it wouldn't be very hard to implement.

Fubarbut isn't it interesting, gameplay wise, to be able to respawn and have enough time to contest A? (or you can use that time for something less interesting like setting up on B)

I mean, there's no other map that offers that possibility

I don't think it's fair to give red 2 or even 3 chances to contest A. All this does it force blue to win several pushes in a row to get the cap, and red only needs one successful defense to stop it (unless that is a good thing, please correct me of that is actually a good mechanic). Not to mention he might give red forward spawn.

Rogue-like games are those that resemble the game Rogue (1980). The key features are randomized dungeons, tile-based movement, and permadeath (there are more features but these are the most notable).

Rogue-lite games are those that possess some, but not all the features of a rogue-like.

Rogue Legacy is a rogue-lite because it is real-time, not tile-based, and death is only pseudo-permanent, as you keep money and upgrades on death.

Either way, I have heard good things about it, might buy it myself.

While having left handed viewmodels does cause rockets to come out the left side of your screen, you are not allowed to flip viewmodels while in a server. you can only change it at the main menu. This prevents players from being able to exploit both right and left corners in a single game.

Not_MatlockYou slowly regenerate any health you lose from drowning when you reach the surface again.

To expand on this:
After 12 seconds of being underwater, you are hurt for 5 damage every second you remain underwater (except for the first second, in which you take 2 damage instead of 5). you regenerate the health you lost from drowning at a rate of 10 health every 2 seconds. Going back underwater will pause the health regeneration. numbers are not class dependent.
(all data was gathered experimentally)

i remember the day of the update i tried reinstalling this and it caused my game to crash every time. didn't feel like trying to figure out the problem and ive just been running stock for now. i think im gonna reinstall it now and see if it works

So i enabled OmpCrosshairCircle and i'm wondering if its possible to change its properties though the class cfg's. I hide my crosshair for my melee weapons but the circle doesnt disappear. also, when im spectating the circle is visible when the crosshair is normally invisible. and fix to that would be great.

There also seems to be a problem with my MvM scoreboard. none of the stats on the right are showing up; they are getting cut off. it seems the box they are in is too small.

i am trying to install the cool circle crosshair into omps hud but cant get it to work properly. its visible, but very small. xHairCircle has a tall value of 72, which appears to be the largest size in the crosshairs.otf

I set enabled and visible to 1 for OmpCrosshairPlus and added the outline code as shown below, but no outline appeared.

I don't want to use one of the custom cross hairs that come with your hud; none of them seem to align perfectly. I'm using stock crosshair7.

so i did what you said, and i successfully moved the health and ammo values close to the center. however, my medic uber % is still in the same position as it was before. where do i go to change it?
