G400s/DA 3.5G weight comparison?

The right click on my DeathAdder 3.5G is starting to give out, which is a pretty major problem considering I use right click to jump. Because of this, I think the time is right to get a new mouse. I got an Abyssus not too long ago, but I don't plan on using it any more because it's got an annoying jitter problem with the sensor (getting one that doesn't jitter on cloth pads is apparently a hard gamble). What I do like about the Abyssus, though, is the weight. It's lighter than my DA, making it a bit more nimble when making large swipes (I use 13.6 in/360, btw).

Backstory aside, I plan on either getting a Logitech G100s or G400s (G100s:Abyssus::G400s:DeathAdder). My question is what is the weight difference between the DA 3.5G and G400s? I know there are probably some numbers floating around, but in terms of actual feel, how does the weight difference compare? Any experienced input is greatly appreciated!

I can't make that comparison. I used to use the deathadder and I'd go through one about every and a half. I got zowie ec evo 1 and it feels like exactly the same mouse but better and I haven't managed to break it in 2 years of abuse.

Whatever you do, don't get the DA 2013, hell I wouldn't even trust the 2014. I went through 4 DA2013's in the span of a month and all four of them broke for the exact same reason, the little piece of plastic under the mouse1 button that actually clicks down the reall button broke off on all of them. I settled for a DA Black and have been using it since June.

I've heard gread things about the Zowie FK from friends who have it. It definitely does not jitter on cloth pads, neither does the G400. Specifically on the Razer Goliathus Control.

As far as weight comparison goes I can't really compare, but if I were you I'd go for a Zowie FK. It has close to a perfect sensor and the G400 is notorious for having its chord break.

What the hell are you doing to your M1 I've had my 2013 for almost a year with no problems

wow if you broke four da 2013s for the same reason every time, it's probably your fault

RMA your abyssus with razer, they have a surprisingly decent warranty, and good CS, you'll get a non-jitter one

Funny enough, I own both the g400s and the DA 3.5. I find the weight difference between the two to be substantial -- the g400(s) is much lighter than the Deathadder. I didn't realize how heavy the Deathadder 3.5 was until I purchased my original g400, but it's definitely noticable to the point that it made me change my sensitivity to be more comfortable with the mouse. I love the light weight of my g400s though, especially because I feel like it is easier to make those large swipes like you mentioned. I found this especially useful on Sniper where I had a low sensitivity and therefore made many large movements. I can't speak for any other mice though as those are my only two gaming mice, so other comparisons I can't comment on.

Good luck buying your new mouse!

Thanks, Twinqe! You answered my question exactly. Looks like I'll be getting the G400s :)

As for my Abyssus, I'm probably going to RMA it some time in the near future, but I've heard that people have had to RMA it multiple times to get one that doesn't jitter. I'd rather go with the solid bet of the G400s in the mean time.

Honestly I probably just got awful luck all four times I refunded it, but I didn't change my playstyle at all with the DA Black and I've never had any problems with that one

Have tried both the g400 and razer DA side by side, and there's not a huge difference in terms of weight. Shape is a bit different between the two and the razer DA is a bit bigger.

i bought the deathadder around xmas 2013, used for about a year before the mouse pads got worn, my m1 was just me clicking too fast in tf2 and thinking my mouse wasnt registering correctly.

i'd recommend the 2012, never tried the 2013 DA

considering getting a g400 or FK for the shape though, im so used to my DA that i love it lol

Zowie EC1 eVo is pretty kick ass, has a similar shape to a DeathAdder and is lighter. You also don't have to deal with programs and drivers with Zowie mice. I really can't recommend them enough.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm pretty set on the G400s, though. I know that Zowie is a pretty reputable name around here, but I'm just not interested in getting a Zowie mouse.
