You need a 4K screen to actually play 4K video.
On youtube you get 4K video downscaled to your resolution.
more pixels yay.

It's double the resolution (roughly) of 1080p so it's not the end of the world. Similarly to TV's, and as mentioned above, you won't see a big difference unless you've got a larger display or a 1440p monitor, projector, etc.

I think it's good though, glad the support for it is growing! Would love to see YouTube's playback system improve though because it has been shit for a long while now.

Even if you don't have a 4k monitor if your pc/internet can manage it then you should use it because it has a higher bitrate, and the bitrate is what makes YT look crap.
