Is it good? From specs (and price) alone it seems perfect except for the fact that I want a bigger screen. Anyone have one?

Got mine this Wednesday.
Fucking love it, feels good in hand, fast and fluid, android 4.4 is great.
5 inches is big, just the maximum for one-handed usability imo.
Feel free to ask specific stuff if you want to.

frownyHow does it compare to the Galaxy Nexus? Size/spec wise

My sister has a G Nexus, the screen is 0.3 inches bigger but the phone itself is almost as wide and tall and even thinner and lighter. People say it looks and feels more premium (opinions in press are mixed due to the mute design), also having a 1920x1080 display without full pixel sub matrix is great (g nex has 720p with amoled pentile submatrix).
Android 4.4 also takes advantage out of the resolution by having transparent buttons at the bottom and transparent status bar.
Camera is substantially better (8 megapixel with optical image stabilisation) and runs a lot more fluid.
Spec wise it now has 2 GB of ram instead of 1 GB and a quad core 2.3 GHz processor by Qualcomm (snapdragon 800) instead of the dualcore 1.5 GHz by Texas instruments, benchmark wise the snapdragon 800 destroys everything.

Just incredibly sharp, you can't see any pixels or rough edges no matter how hard you try, colours are ok and better than my 2012 N7.
Amazing experience to watch 1080p movies with a tiny bezel on a 5 inch

Fair enough, the firmware isn't a bother for me as I'm rooted with a custom ROM and I'm using Pie instead of the Navbar anyway but I'm glad they moved away from the Amoled pentile submatrix screens. That was my biggest let-down when I got my GNex. Ta for the info mate.

Pretty much the best Android phone out right now. It has a 5 inch display, and you want a bigger screen? Like as if a 5 inch screen isn't big enough lol? Phone displays have only been getting larger, it seems like they are just becoming tablets almost in terms of size. The only options for a larger screen would prob be the galaxy note series, but in terms of what you get for your money, Nexus 5 by far.

idk why people want such large screens for their phone, my old gs2 has like a 4.3 inch screen, and i feel even that is too big. 5 in would be too big for me normally if the nexus 5 wasn't such a good phone.

FogIs it worth the upgrade from the Nexus 4?

http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/05/nexus-5-review/

That's probably debatable and depends on if you are willing to drop 350 on a new phone with some performance and aesthetic upgrades. Check out that review though, there's a chart of the differences between the 4 and 5 and some other interesting things.

Not exactly on topic, but I have a cellphone dilema as well. I am stuck between getting the Galaxy s4 or the Lg g2 for the blackfriday sale. I can get the galaxy s4 for free or pay 50$ for the Lg G2. I've read some reviews on the g2, and it seems to be slightly better. Money isn't really an issue here

If money isn't an issue then why not get the nexus 5? unless you don't wanna drop 350. but i think the g2 is a bit better than the s4.

G2 is the best phone out there expect the software maybe (best android cam / display / battery / chipset )

Out of the s4 and G2, get the G2 (if you like the back end buttons.) Personally i'm getting a note 3 next week as they are incredible, but my next two choices were the sonyZ1 and the nexus 5. There really is a lot of good android devices out there, so just pick one you like.

Getting a Nexus 5 next time I'm in the UK. The battery life can't be any worse than the water-damaged HTC Sensation I have now.

As someone who refuses to get onto a phone contract and is currently using a LG optimus, I ordered a nexus 5 as soon as I was sure I had the funds to do so. It doesn't leave the warehouse until Dec 12, :(.

oh so you meant december 11th, not 12th
i considered that possibility, but rebutted it because i thought the day of a date would be the last thing that someone would mistake

I just got the G2. I love it. I was really set on getting an S4 until i compared them side by side in the Verizon store. in my opinion, G2 was better in every way. And it was cheaper at the time.

I got used to having the buttons on the back of the phone. I hardly use them though. The G2 has this 'knock-on' feature that i use instead (Tap the screen twice and it turns on). There is hardly a difference between the OS's on the Nexus 5 (4.4) and the G2 (4.2.2). I havent read much about what the differences are within the OS but i think it has something to do with creating apps or something. Im not really into that.

A lot of the specs are the same between the G2 and the nexus 5. Basically just a different body style.

potIt depends on what phone you have right now.

Some Nokia from 5 years ago :x

Goat_Got mine this Wednesday.
Fucking love it, feels good in hand, fast and fluid, android 4.4 is great.
5 inches is big, just the maximum for one handed us ability imo.
Feel free to ask specific stuff if you want to.

Well I can't think of much, after going through specs I can definitely say the screen is the only thing I'd pick the Galaxy Mega.

Any outstanding bugs or issues? Battery life hold up? Speaking of which, is that wireless charger thing the only one you can use, and does that add much to the cost?

phAZEPretty much the best Android phone out right now.

5 in would be too big for me normally if the nexus 5 wasn't such a good phone.

my hands are pretty big.

also it's hard to see nipples on 5"
