Pretty much any essay topic involving united states history has a pretty great wikipedia article about it.

I'm sure there's something about immigration in here.

Educated middle-class women questioned the reasons for denying them the right to vote when immigrant men, many of whom were illiterate or poorly educated, could help choose the nation's leaders.

I'm in US History right now, and I'm not that good at it. But I think during World War 1, many men got drafted and fought, thus leaving the jobs to minorities and immigrants from Mexico. During that time, women were also allowed to take the jobs of men. I think this was a helping factor to women gaining equal rights and eventually leading to the right to vote? I could be wrong, someone please help I'm failing too!

To uplift woman's fallen divinity
Upon an even pedestal with man's.
And, strange as it may seem to many, we now demand our right
to vote according to the declaration of the government under
which we live. This right no one pretends to deny. We need
not prove ourselves equal to Daniel Webster
[a popular conservative elitist nativist Whig politician]
to enjoy this
privilege, for the ignorant Irishman in the ditch has all
the civil rights he has. We need not prove our muscular
power equal to this same Irishman to enjoy this privilege,
for the most tiny, weak, ill-shaped stripling of twenty-one
has all the civil rights of the Irishman. We have no
objection to discuss the question of equality, for we feel
that the weight of argument lies wholly with us, but we wish
the question of equality kept distinct from the question of
rights, for the proof of the one does not determine the
truth of the other. All white men in this country have the
same rights, however they may differ in mind, body, or
estate.

We touched upon this in APUSH. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was the big one mentioned as an advocate for womens' suffrage, and she uses this argument here. She helped organize the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first womens rights convention in America, where she made this speech.

Please please please do not use tf.tv as a source of scholarly information. Are you in a university or high school? Regardless, look for scholarly articles and books (i.e. published by an academic source or university). Some publications put out their information for free. Or, amazon.com provides previews of books (many pages, including most of the introduction, which really, is sometimes all you need). Check to see if your school has a subscription to jstor.com. Also, do a Google scholar search. If you are set on not doing original research, at least go to reddit.com/r/askhistorians.

I will never understand why, when we literally have a world of information at our fingertips, students still settle on second-rate sources for information. Sure it takes a little bit longer, but honestly, these research skills are invaluable and will stay with you throughout your academic and nonacademic career.

Also, don't wait until the last minute to write papers!

Iron Jawed Angels is a really good movie if you're bored of reading articles. It's mostly about Alice Paul and Lucy Burns with some picketing of Woodrow Wilson thrown in.

Immigration helped by bringing in more wiminz. More wiminz = more wimnz wanting to vote = girly votes allowed.

I've never heard of immigration policy playing a role in the women's suffrage movement and the few US history courses I took were gender studies courses :/

But hey you can't cover every angle lol.

MarxistI've never heard of immigration policy playing a role in the women's suffrage movement and the few US history courses I took were gender studies courses :/

It wasn't immigration policy, but the massive influx of immigrants that was used as an argument for suffrage.

But the OP's situation strikes me as a give a fish vs teach how to fish case. If you are in university the best and easiest way to get help on a paper is to go speak to the TA who is going to grade your paper. Just by going in and chewing the fat will net you an extra 5%-10% boost to your grade for free. Additionally if you ask some leading questions that reword the original prompt, you can pretty much get the A+ answer for the paper. Just make sure to go in well before the paper is finally due or else you won't receive such a warm reception. Trust me this method is fool proof because I've seen idiots copy verbatim what they got in office hours and still earn B grades and above. Finally and perhaps even more importantly you can curry some favor for future letters of recommendation.
