tftv youtube channel

I don't really have time as of lately to spend much of my spare time on tftv, or to play TF competitively. Though, Sometimes I will start up a tftv casted game on youtube.

In my time of navigating the TFTV youtube channel, I feel the youtube channel could be organized a bit better when it comes to playlists.

Currently there are two manageable ways to navigate the channel. One is by recently uploaded videos, and to navigate the list until you find what you're looking for.

The other is to view by playlist, for league, or content you are looking for.

If There could be a new playlist for each season of ESEA, ETF2L, an updated podcast playlist, and playlists for the asia fortress games you cast earlier it would make videos a lot easier to find.

Not to mention, viewers are more likely to watch earlier videos from the same playlist, as it would automatically play after finishing a video.

Only thing I would add is sort by league season, if you sort solely by league eventually you'll hit the limit of 200 videos.

I actually use the YouTube channel often, and I think it would be great if we sort be league and season, and then include a category for special matches, such as the i-series LANs, Ready Steady Pan, Charity matches, etc.

On a somewhat similar note, could the tftv steam group have the events posted so that if I am playing TF2 or something I'll see a little note pop up mentioning stuff going live?

Probably not in a long time, it's a nice feature but it'd be very time intensive for what is ultimately a minor feature.

How so? It's just a title, description and date. The title and description can just be copy and pasted too. Seems like it really won't be that hard.

Automating it would be a huge coding cost; we could possibly do it manually but it's pretty menial. I'll ask around.

Just do it manually, there's like what, 10 events a week? Shouldn't take more than a minute per event, so somebody can just set aside 15 minutes every Sunday. If nobody currently on staff has that time, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be willing to help given it's a small commitment.

It could increase viewership for sure, I know sometimes I dont know or forget that european games are happening and don't remember until they are over, or end up tuning in late to ESEA match streams because time got away from me.

Fair enough, I'll look into it.

EDIT: If anyone wants to volunteer to do this, feel free to add me on Steam. Otherwise, I'm looking for someone.

One thing I didn't take into account is that events get scheduled last minute, but neglecting these events would be no worse than no steam notifications at all.

Another, potentially more problematic, is events changing schedule. People could understandably get annoyed at getting notifications for events that are no longer happening.

But aside from that, should be pretty straight forward.

I'll look into making a bot, since it doesn't seem to difficult given what I already have.
