fosterGonna finish season 2 tonight and planning on powering through season 3 and 4 in hopes I can finish before season 5 starts.

FYI the first half (8 episodes) of season 5 were already aired and are on netflix so be sure and watch those before it starts up again.

BubberkillRiddlethere is no problem with you not liking a show (some people don't like dramas, some people don't like sitcoms, etc; people have tastes), but you're an idiot if you don't realize it's one of the best dramas ever made.
Are we talking technical here with the cutting and sound or are we talking script wise??

I've already stated that i dont like it and dont think it's "one of the best dramas ever made" but i'll say the production quality is better than so many other shows

the show does have some kick ass cinematography, especially in the later seasons. in terms of sound, the work definitely shows and the soundtrack is fantastic.

but one of the great things about the show is the character development, as well as the seasons building upon each other perfectly. there's a reason it's gotten exponentially better over time, it used to be "high school teacher turned drug dealer" (which is a mildly interesting concept) but it's gone so much further, that using that as a synopsis doesn't do the show justice.

I watched the first 4 seasons in 5 days last year.
I have been rewatching it with a friend; she just watched the boxcutter scene and flipped out.

gewtI'm glad there's a decent group on tf.tv that will want to gossip about this show with me, because the Breaking Bad subreddit is a cess pool of 15-year-old idiots who just post their shitty sketches, cosplays, and theories. "OMG WHAT IF WALT JR COOK METH??? LEL"

im also subbed to r/breakingbad but other than pics, theories, and overall hype for the show what the hell else is there to talk about?

Foster you can catch up if u get addicted, I think I watched the whole thing (Season 1 to First-Half of season 5) in a week and a half.

RiddleBubberkillMost overhyped show
lets look at the metacritic scores:

Season 1: 74
Season 2: 85
Season 3: 89
Season 4: 96
Season 5 Part 1: 99 (essentially the highest tv metacritic score of all time)

I wonder where the hype comes from??? Maybe it's from being one of the most critically acclaimed shows of all time, with a massive fan following?

Well with all due respect to the hype, I really don't know how they can end this show in a "decent" way. Killing Walter is a semi-decent way to end the show, but it is an easy escape.
I really hope the writers/plot will blow my mind.

According to Cranston's AMA on reddit that he did a bit ago, it's being, discussed, that there will be a spin off about Saul Goodman and his business - which I think could be a pretty interesting + funny show.

To be fair, there are some pretty bad episodes scattered about, but the overall story and flow is good - especially because of how much the cast interacts with the script. The only real problem I have is, because each episode is generally written by different people, some of the supporting characters are utilized differently from episode to episode and end up with inconsistencies - Skylar and Hank's wife are two particular examples - they are never the same person episode to episode. But I'll admit I love the show - Bryan Cranston is *so* good at what he does.

kirbyCan someone give me a quick run down about this show? I have close to no idea what it's about :x

Initially, it's about a chemistry teacher who learns he has terminal cancer. Not wanting to leave his family penniless, he starts to cook crystal meth to provide for his family.

This is essentially the plot, but the story progresses to be much deeper than this.

Basically kirby, it's about Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher. He discovers in the first episode that he has cancer and that he has basically no way to actually afford treatment - and particularly given how advanced said cancer is, it's gonna' be expensive. So, he decides to use his chemistry knowledge to cook meth in order to make money. The title "breaking bad" is about how a perfectly normal responsible guy "breaks bad" and ends up doing a lot of unsavory things in order to achieve his goal.

That's the premise.
