Introducing: The greatest custom scoreboard ever

EDIT: 12/31/12 I ADDED VARIATIONS FOR PUTTING SCORES BACK IN AND ALSO AVATARS, GO CHECK EM OUT
EDIT: 1/3/13 Made the names wider on the avatars scoreboard so that they are ridiculously small
EDIT: 1/8/13 Updated tf_english file
EDIT: 3/5/13 New styles + update to positioning
EDIT: 3/5/13 #2 Fixed dominations overlapping with scores. Note: if you use any scoreboard with scores in it, it will have dominations and revenges in it.

A very simple, clean scoreboard that takes out everything that isn't 100% completely necessary. Now you don't have to get mad at people who have lower ping than you, you won't need to worry if you are bottom fragging or top dying, you don't have to worry about getting the most dominations or getting so many revenges because you keep getting dominated. You won't know if you are an assist machine or a kill stealer. All you have to worry about is playing.

I'm not actually saying that its perfect or that everyone needs to use it, its just nice for those guys who get hung up on stats when really, stats don't mean that much. You can generally get a good feel for when you are playing well or poorly. If you can't figure out that you are dying too much because you can't see a number on a scoreboard, then maybe that's something you should work on. If you need an ego stroke from seeing your frags every 5 seconds, you should probably take a good look at the words "Team Fortress 2" and start playing like a team player. Plus it just helps you focus on playing instead of being sidetracked that you are dying too much or some guy has lower ping or all those other meaningless excuses. ANYWAYS ON A POSITIVE NOTE LOOK HOW COOL THESE IS YEAH!

(you need to place the scoreboard file in your resource/ui folder and the tf.english file in your resource or just copy the resource folder in the link to your tf folder.)

EDIT: this scoreboard may not be compatible with gmang hud since i basically stole the base from a minimal gmang scoreboard and changed it a shit ton, so it'll be less minimal if you use gmang. Also, if you already have a tf.english file sitting around that is doing something specific for your hud (example: ellshud) then you may need to change stuff around, if it comes down to it just message me and i'll walk ya through it.

It would be better if it had some sort of background to make the letters easier to read.

Pretty cool. I myself like using a scoreboard for "positive reinforcement" I suppose for the mental sake, but I can understand that working in the opposite way for others.

I like it. I'm going to use this. Points don't mean anything now >:(

Edit: Wait a second... I can make this my cl_hud_minmode 1 (or whatever) right?
and keep my regular hud on cl_hud_minmode 0?

if you use it as scout it will trick you into thinking you're topfragging when really you have 20 captures

sounds cool

mustardoverlordif you use it as scout it will trick you into thinking you're topfragging when really you have 20 captures

sounds cool

Some scouts already think that with a full scoreboard

this should only work in minimode 0 but honestly i didn't really check, with the scoreboard its been broken for me anyways so when it was minimode 0 or 1 it was the same scoreboard so idk.

For some reason it shows my kills and deaths at the top and the words "Control Points" in the top right. It also has green text "Server time left:" on the blu side of the scoreboard. It might be a problem with my ClientScheme.res

Haha I just skim through posts and find the download link(s). The "Server map time left:" is still there for me though.

That was the main thing the tf.english file should have taken out... hmm... All i know is after every update i have to re add the tf.english file to my resource folder because updates delete it or something so i made it read only. check to see if it really is there, it might have gotten deleted or some weird stuff.

also :)

The best thing would be to remove that white bar that highlights your name. Just makes it confusing quickly counting how many are dead.

i'll try that drew, also i'm considering taking out names for whatever team you join so you can't tell where you are on the scoreboard, but the problem is i don't know of a way to make it detect what team you join and apply that to just that team because you need to see the other teams names since you can't see their class icon.

Also to address what Drakemegrim said, I'd be willing to make a variation if more than just 1 person was vocal about wanting it.

I know that would be nice for some (Drake's suggestion) but I personally keep it transparent

Update: I fixed some small issues (dom and nemesis medals showing up), and changed the team score color back to white. Make sure you download the tf.english file as well and put it in your resources, it gets deleted after every update so you need to keep around the file in somewhere other than your resource folder as a backup.

well i haven't done any scientific testing, but it probably doesn't, its like a custom hud, its just cleaner and simpler.

The scoreboard base i used came without the avatars, so i don't actually know who to turn them back on, but i think you just have to change the values of the avatar element in the scoreboard file.

Try changing the value of "avatar_width" from 2 to something else in the score section, or mess with the values in the avatar section, otherwise i really don't know D:

NickCan this be done for mge?

Not sure what you mean, the scoreboard works the same in mge, and if you are talking about the score thing at the top, I'm pretty certain all server's running mge should have a command called !hud as a toggle command, turns off the scores and turns them back on.

If someone figures out how to turn on avatars, could you please post it here? I'd like to be able to see them as well.

Also, is there a way so that the friends list icon is next to people's names on the scoreboard?
