Is it possible?
Im a little short on space, and if there's a way I could run TF2/CS:GO off of my backup drive, that would be awesome.

thanks :)

Steam give you an option when you install a game to choose the location.

Assuming you use the steam mover tool correctly and the game and all its registry stuff is properly configured, are there no performance issues or bugs when using an external storage device to run games?

Thing I hate about steam mover is having to download the entire game before being able to create symbolic/hard links. I just make the links myself...not too hard. Just make the folders and steam will make download properly. There's also steam's library function with the new content delivery system, it only works on games that have been converted to it though.

no, except bandwidth limitations of the interface your external is connected to.

Oh and your links wont work if your mount points (drive letters) are different from what the link was created with.

Yeah, I run everything but TF2 off of an hard drive then have TF2 on my SSD. There are no performance issues or anything.

the whole reason is because I am short on space, so I would run it off my 1TB Seagate External HD. It plugs in via USB.
I have no idea how to do this, so i would need some help
