credit to mana for pointing this out to me earlier:

http://developers.slashdot.org/story/13/05/23/1752201/google-code-deprecates-download-service-for-project-hosting

with this news in mind, will you HUD guys eventually migrate your projects over to github?

i was planning on making an auto-updating HUD aggregate page on TFTV so this could just make things that much easier

It's worth noting that GitHub also removed downloads several months ago. Of course, you can download a snapshot of the repository at any commit, but you can't manually upload files.

IMO, that's fine. GitHub as is is pretty good for HUDs and some of the big ones are already there.

It's unknown, however, how exactly Google Code intends to change downloads. That's why I advised enigma to just add support for GitHub only as of now.

I'm in often contact with the maker of KBNHUD and he says he will be moving to GitHub, so that's another relatively major HUD moving there.

having a hub for huds to be showcased would be amazing, would be such a better interface than imgur albums and links.
