I used to play competitively but now I'm a little more casual. I'm teaching Basik how to play for a tournament he's going to, so you can join our sessions if you want. I play most of the cast pretty well, so I could probably teach you a good amount for any character. I do suggest to play a lot of Ryu at first to learn fundamentals. From there, we can talk about what kind of style character you would like to play.

I main Viper with a secondary Sagat, then I have like eight different characters that are a toss-up for third.

Others that play are Killing and Gravegun, as well as a few others I'm surely forgetting.

GWFL name: TheFragileSlip

What kind of stick do you have? Or at least the buttons. If the buttons are Sanwa, then don't press all the way down, you can lightly tap and the key/switch will be read.

MYLESWhat kind of stick do you have? Or at least the buttons. If the buttons are Sanwa, then don't press all the way down, you can lightly tap and the key/switch will be read.

That's unnecessary, because they are made to be practically beat to death. There's no advantage to pressing lightly other than not making a lot of noise if noise is an issue.

I got the 3DS version. It was fun the few times I've played it.

I just got into the game a few months ago, been messing around with some friends and some guys at my local. I want to learn some more and actually get good. Anyone can add me on steam and my GFWL is vivalanegro.

I play it with my friend occasionally who's a big fighting game player. I don't own it myself and I'm more partial to King of Fighters myself, but in SFIV I really like Makoto and Ibuki who are almost completely opposite in terms of play style.

No, they are pretty offensive characters, unless you don't play one of them offensively (which is kind of a waste of potential). Both of them work a lot off of knockdowns and pokes.

Now that I've sorted out a lot of life issues, I'm thinking of playing again, is the population actually big enough to find games 24/7 on PC?
