At the end of the day it's a video game so having fun is the ultimate goal, regardless of the server being intended for practice. For me personally I don't want to DM against someone using a class or weapon that can kill me if he hits his shots regardless of how good my dodging or aim is. Sniper very clearly falls into that category, DH is debatably in it. Enough people share my opinion for these things to be banned on Fog's servers, there are DM servers that don't ban them for people who don't care or who somehow get practice out of shooting snipers in the back and getting headshot.

I played against DH in DM too. Nothing happened. Well, I did go out of my way to kill bloodsire every time I got one shot. Didn't stop me from DMing though.

There's an invite player post in pretty much every one of these threads, whether it's about sniper, DH, or another unlock.

I honestly can't tell if you're kidding, but if you're actually asking for clarification the key for my point is the thing in bold. I'm fine with getting outplayed, I just don't like it when I'm dying for no reason other than positioning in a DM server. I wanna DM to practice deathmatch (herp derp) , not positioning. Just my personal preference.

Yeah essentially. I don't like dying in DM with no chance to do anything about it, seems pointless to me, especially when killing snipers or DH players when they miss their shots isn't fun or good practice.
Seriously Alleal just go play on eXtv DM (if it's even still alive l0l) or some other server.

I just want to practice the more close range, quick reflex shot sniper, although I can see how that would be hard to implement. Perhaps the solution would be more map wise. Or that neat headshot plugin, although who knows how anything works with steampipe

Because I like DM. Weird right? I don't actually care about the DH or unlocks cuz I never use them, I just want to snipe. But the argument for unlocks and the argument for sniper go hand in hand so I say let it all in. It's not like I don't play on Fog's servers. They're nice and usually populated. I don't remember what happened to the extv servers, something about IP changes. Either way they're dead, and there aren't any other DM servers on the sidebar.

I don't know why these weapons are unbanned in ESEA if they just make people annoyed whenever they're used, and aren't viable at the top anyway...

ETF2L whitelist is basically: if it adds to the game, allow it.

ESEA whitelist is basically: if it doesnt take away from the game/is not OP allow it.

DH is perfectly viable in a match and you're more than welcome to use it. But it's annoying and not fun to play against in dm mod which is why people dont like it.

15 hours into the crisis and neither side show signs of budging. The chatban stands, and a line in the sand has been drawn. Fog continues to ham up the masses with his anti bud rhetoric while maintaining his draconian rule over those servers he pays for. Perhaps the most concerning thing to so far come out of this situation is that some people are actually taking this thread seriously. These are dark times for videogame players, and the best thing we can do is stay vigilant.
