The Australian winter gaming tradition continues as LAN Downunder 2025 prepares to light up Melbourne once again! This July 19-20th, the premier event returns to the Fortress Arena, Australia's largest dedicated esports arena, where eight elite teams will compete for glory.

After last year's successful debut, LAN Downunder has established itself as the pinnacle of Australian offline TF2 tournaments. With Witness Gaming AU now divided between competing and casting after Physgun Fireside Denver 2025, the field is wide open for a new champion to emerge.

The stage is set, the teams are ready, and the winter gaming season is about to reach its peak. Who will claim the crown and etch their name into Australian TF2 history?

Tournament Format

  • Day 1 (Saturday July 19th): Round robin best-of-one group stage with all eight teams
  • Day 2 (Sunday July 20th): Top four teams from the group stage advance to best-of-three double-elimination playoffs.

Prize Pool

The competition will be fierce as teams who have been grinding since qualifiers battle for their share of our donation-fuelled prize pool. Fans can contribute via the official donation portal, with various rewards, milestones, and on-stream goals unlocked across the weekend — from bonus interviews, beers and other chaotic surprises. Donations go directly toward the LAN Downunder 2025 prize pool and help cover event production costs.

LAN Downunder is proudly sponsored by ARTISAN Mousepads and Marketplace.tf, with venue and production support from Fortress.

Got pretty lucky! One of our operations staff used to do journalism for Japanese Overwatch. They're goats and sent out 50 mousepads to give away as prizes.

Unironically would love to see some sort of international rep in the future. The venue down here is pretty special and I think teams will enjoy a holiday down under ;)
