It's amazing how RGL can fuck up something as simple as banning someone for not submitting a demo by waiting until he actually does submit it.

Of course the rules also suck because on one hand they state that demos must be uploaded within 48 hours, but on the other hand the punishment is for "Failure to submit Demos". So it's unclear if the punishment applies when demos are submitted too late.

ETF2L is quite clear on all that.

2.1.1. Penalties for not providing requested demosFailure to provide a requested demo file before its due time (i.e. 72 hours after being requested) will result in a penalty for the player and a Warning being issued to their team. Multiple instances of requested demo files not being applied come with greater punishments for both the player and the team.

Warnings applied to teams that fail to provide requested demo files can be removed once those files are uploaded. Player demo infractions expire after four years and will not count towards future penalties.

-72 hours because weekends are a thing
-penalties apply if that time is exceeded
-team warnings can be removed (the vaunted admin discretion applies) if demos are uploaded later

RGL may have 45 pages of rules, but clarification for how late demos are to be handled really couldn't be squeezed in.
But hey, instead there's this gem:

1008.5 - POV and STV DemosNon-match demos may be requested if it involves an important case.

You better be recording your scrims and pubbing!
