Dolphin: Wii/Gamecube Emulator

So, Dolphin is a Gamecube/Wii emulator that also allows you to render your games at a much higher resolution than originally possible and to be able to use HD texture packs.

It also allows you to use Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering as well, which makes the games look a lot nicer than when they were originally made.

For example: Super Mario Galaxy on Dolphin.

Super Mario Sunshine:

HD Texture packs can really make these games come alive again. I really enjoy playing them in HD and think they look better than a lot of Xbox/PS3 games when up-ressed.

Here's a video of Skyward Sword maxed settings 1080p

I've been playing Wind Waker on it and it not only works a charm, but it looks amazing!

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/864962513304701357/2736F63AEB682948CE29FD6133EDD4B2545EB7B2/

Unfortunately some cutscenes cause a black screen and I have to do a hard reset but it's a small issue compared to being able to play it in widescreen with much better graphics.

I'm tempted to replay the Fire Emblem series for GC/Wii...

Then I realize I'm going to grind someone to 20/20/20 and solo every single map except the last one.

This guy won't brag, but he's contributed code to the Dolphin project.

He's actually contributed bugfixes to Valve too.

By the way, the program itself is legal.

Don't link to games here though.

Anyway, Dolphin is awesome. I started playing WW with it and it looks amazing. It has graphical glitches due to it not originally being widescreen (not everything is rendered for widescreen), and because it's an emulator and isn't perfect.

Also, tried playing it with a keyboard + mouse and it's impossible thanks to the not-so-free camera.

#1 yes, but you need a sensor bar. It's really just 2 IR lights next to each other.
#2 yes.

You'll probably have to emulate it with something like Glovepie.

I picked up one of these on amazon so I could use a gamecube controller. Works really well.

Anyone know if you can use an XBox 360 Controller to emulate a gamecube controller on Wii games. All I've been able to do is emulate a Wiimote with Wii games and it makes playing a couple games really bad.

Google is your friend. We shouldn't talk about it here.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Also average wii games are around 4GB and I guess you would need more than 1 second to download them.

That's not really true, I used to, umm, backup Wii games all the time until they bricked it and if you remove (clean) the pointless "info" on most Wii games they will average 2-3 gb

Hi again, my internet problems are sorta ok now, so I've downloaded dolphin and "acquired" dk returns(took litterally 20 hours of nonstop "acquiring", its 4 gb), Ive started it and connected my wii mote, but it says "communications with the Wii Remote have been interrupted", I dont have my sensor bar connected becuase I cant, is there anyway to get around this without buying a wireless sensorbar?

EDIT: http://imgur.com/NOpRNTp here's a pic

I'm in the middle of playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. It's a really fun game, though not as fun as it was when I was younger, playing it with friends instead of myself. Gonna have to play some more classics.

Yes but most of the time you don't find scrubbed "backups" on the internet.
