I downloaded it from chris' site but for some reason now it's all mashed together all on 5 lines or something. I would take me hours trying to figure out everything. Can someone just copy and paste to me the one WITH spaces as I remember it from like a year ago?

I just tried maxquality on dx9. If I am getting good fps, I was wondering if there's any reason not to use it? I turned off ragdolls so that's not a problem or distraction in comp. Is there any other reason not to use maxquality?

They don't lose their formatting. It's just that notepad doesn't properly recognize the newline character the file's using.

Use notepad++ or akelpad or something.

I use notepad++ for anything that requires highlighting or a very long display, but akelpad for normal text etc.

It's honestly just personal preference, however a lot of people lower the quality of tf2 in an attempt to be less distracted by things like props or bushes/grass/rocks that you can clip through. It's also somewhat helpful as far as maximizing your ability to concentrate on clicking on the enemy team, much in the same way quake players use fullbright textures that make the map textures less complex and 1 solid color.

I changed to maxquality on dx9 and then changed back to the maxframes on dx8 but a few things seem to be missing that overall are making me lose about 20% of performance :\
Shadows aren't pixelated, stickies are glowing, buff banner circle effect is working, taking MUCH longer to tab into game and maybe some I'm not noticing. Does anyone have an older version of the config that has all of the commands that let you disable that stuff or maybe know a few commands themselves?

Remove -dxlevel from your launch options to fix slow alt-tabbing.
