DOTA 2 in 2017/2018 will have 11 Majors and 11 Minors now, along with the annual International.

CS:GO, on the other hand, will only get 2 a year with no international

and tf2 gets nothing

dota 2 will keep getting large numbers and large sponsored tournaments until either icefrog fucks with the game so hard everyone leaves or daddy gaben decides to milk it into the ground like he's been doing with csgo

dota is the most interesting esport right now, and has the largest pool of incredibly skilled players

sorry you haven't figured it out yet but dota is the wave

not only that it's the best game out there, Valve's work puts any other dev to shame with the in-game features

You're not going to understand what's happening very well if you've never played or watched a game before

is there any logical reason why valve doesnt invest in TF2?

Happyseditsis there any logical reason why valve doesnt invest in TF2?

cause currently tf2 is just a money printer for valve and the majority of it's player base doesn't want it to be a competitive game

csgo and dota 2 on the other hand are updated versions of competitive games that were already around, so it's only natural for valve to invest time and money into growing those competitive scenes

I mean it's also that CSGO and dota are much easier to spectate and 1 hour stalemates aren't really thing in those, or even if they happen, rarely are they boring at all. It's much more exciting to watch let's say a farming dota game at pro level than failed choke pushes on badlands 2nd for 30 min. To be fair, it can also be argued that they could certainly improve the aspects of competitive TF2 maps if they gave a shit and consequently improve spectating the game... could've been big maybe. Now they can only watch Overwatch attempt to not fuck up what TF2 could have been (Spoiler: They are kinda fucking it up).
