2sy_morphiendedota 1 = original moba
dota 2 = dota 1 with less heroes out and better graphics
hon = dota 1 with better graphics and lots more heroes that arent even in dota

HoN is the try-hard 90s ACTION edition of DotA. Most of the S2 heroes are fucking retarded and ever since hon 2.0 they gave up on attempting to be dota and instead went for some other crazy sort of game where heroes that have 2.5k radius 40% slow 250 damage nukes that don't require vision are o k.

Damn shame because I would have liked to see deadwood and forsaken archer in a playable arts but I guess I never will.

God I remember how broken they were when they came out. Although Plague(Lich)/Engineer were the most broken heroes when they came out. SPLASH on Lich ult, who the hell thought that would be fair? And 200% attack speed turrets with unlimited attack modifiers and lots of HP (ace the team when they try to kill your turret and you're in spawn).

In reality, HoN needed to be different than dota, but it's really hard for it to get a greater player base back. It has the best system/UI/customization etc hands down, but bad heroes + people not liking the look stopped it from getting anywhere.

PS. I still can't believe they haven't added ctrl modifier to dota2. Come on :(

Just build whatever it says, then every game take a moment to read what you're building and eventually you'll start to realize why you build certain things

And you get back into it by playing the game (of all things, this may be surprising)

I don't necessarily agree that you should follow guides, especially this website's. For example, look at how they skill Axe, you don't max counter helix until far later in the game, which implies they are not jungling Axe; I highly doubt that you will ever see Axe in lane, since his laning phase is pretty abysmal unless you go mana boots + hunger spam to be an annoyance. Another issue with guides is when people follow them perfectly, while the guide might be good for one situation, it cannot apply to every singe one available.

In TA's section they say to get psi blades at 2, 12, 13, and 14. While this may legitimate in a lane where the other person is an easy kill, if you're against someone with a better base range the harass you are going to take is going to be insane. Another issue is a lot of guides are outdated and aren't often updated.

Look at PL, while radiance rushing might not always be the best option is certainly is the current meta. This guide advocates running a vanguard and soul ring, where a radiance becomes a luxury item.

Hell, Sniper's section, tells you to max Shrapnel before Headshot and Take Aim, since PRC was put into the game, and affects Headshot, I can see no reason to max Shrapnel over Headshot, and Take Aim is easily one of the best laning phase skills due to its range increase so that you can farm far more safely.

Should I replace the in-game default list of recommended items for their recommended items?

Better yet, the Lich section has a Vladimir's Offering in it. It can be used to help your melee teammates, but come on. Mine as well focus the Scythe of Vyse or etc.

No one cares that game is garbage. Sponsor the team that can pick/ban the OP heroes the best win the next International np. Hint: Faceless Void, Sven, Luna, Chaos Knight, Nature's Prophet, Magnus, etc. (too many to ban in the current game and too many to be worth looking and naming them all.) Have fun. Faceless Void Reigning God 2013 many years running *bow. EDIT: Oops forgot Lone Druid like a dumbass. Seems I would not be very good for your team pickup. That guy gives you a free second character. FOR FREE. 12 items. Not even a clone. A naturally tanky Bear with 6 extra item slots hahahaha. And Viper a carry with natural tankiness. Wow I really should stop THERE'S TOO MANY!!!!

Oh god, I saw that comment on the FB page. I had a feeling that guy didn't have such a nice game against the heroes he listed.

I've never ever played a dota style game, but I wouldnt mind trying. Is there any resources for newbies? The one in #30 looks pretty helpful, just wondering if there was anything else.

The axe and TA builds are pretty standard. Don't need more than one point in counter helix to jungle effectively, and TA's fine with one point in psi blades as her other abilities are too good to not max. I would say PL is better off rushing diffusal over radiance in most games, and that seems to be the norm in matches lately. The sniper one is outdated and doesn't factor in the headshot buff.

Nah pretty much no one maxes Counter Helix cause there is no reason to, you are far better off getting points in Battle Hunger to use on the sidelane occasionally, gives you far stronger ganks and harass. Maxing Helix first is relying on randomness to do most of your damage, not worth it at all especially since the extra points barely speed up your jungle.

Why would it be impossible to get high MMR on your account.

With the items/hero comp in your opening picture, you can pretty easily sleep walk to high MMR if you actually try.

I mean you won as carry Wisp, if you picked up TA or QoP or something I'm pretty sure you could get high MMR.
