Ok so I wanna surf, I know there are like levels of difficulty on surfing maps. But I need map that is crazy easy, like the begginer cource on jump_adventure easy. Im that bad, Also how do I make a offline singleplayer surfmap work.

EDIT: I also wanna know how you get that thing where it says what buttons you are using, is that a server mod?

DunderBrobut the ping :(

I surf on this server almost everyday and trust me the ping isn't noticable while surfing(I always have around 130-150ms). The only thing that is different is the bhopping but you'll get used to the delay after a little while.

you need a bunch of serverside plugins to make surfing work. but if you do, surf_beginner is easy

if there is a map in existence that matches your required level of easy, it would be on susurfiT. if you cant do ANY maps there, then you just need to keep trying and go to tf2jump.com, there are videos and tutorials there to help new jumpers and surfers, plus map downloads

If you plan to do it on your own client you need to get a mod that lets you edit airaccelerate to something really high. As is TF2 won't let you change it.

There's a way you can do it without local sourcemod. To do this, go to any surf server that had sourcemod that has modified sv_airacceleration to 150. After you connect, disconnect and the engine settings are saved when you create a listen server. So go into console and type "map surf_x" (x being replaced with the map name) and you can surf, the only thing you can't do it bhop, so chose a map without bhops.

!skeys is a sourcemod plugin

I beg to differ.

http://pastebin.com/87yivUjm

Copy and Paste this into notepad, make it a .cfg file (Name it "skeys.cfg") then put it in your cfg, exec it in console, then BAM your skeys config is there.

yo steps on getting the right air accel on a local server without using source mod.
1.Join SurfiT(or any surf server)
2.Type in console map surf_map_name_here
3.Then when it loads you will be on a local server, and be able to surf. But you won't have bhop.

If you have Counter-Strike Source it's much more convenient to start on imo. There are more easy maps and you don't have to mess with sourcemod to adjust air accel. Once you learn the basics you can transfer between the two games fairly easily too.

As for easy maps, surf_grassland, surf_utopia_njv, surf_ny__platinum_b5, surf_tensile_njv, surf_waterworks, surf_beginner, surf_ing, surf_derpis, are all pretty easy. Again, if you have access to CS:S I can give you a much bigger list.

Yeah fruits is cherry on stage 2.

As for other good beginning maps, refer to Dellort.

But I would disagree on beginning with CS:S. I would say stick with one or the other. I've surfed 90% of my surfing on surfiT and when i went over to CS:S, something felt different. I can't put my finger on it, but it just seems off. Something with the air-strafing feeling odd. Regardless, I would stick with one or the other.

Good luck!
