My mic works perfectly fine when I am talking in mumble but when I am ingame and talk my voice is distorted like crazy. This never happened before and just suddenly started happening. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

Volume and gain settings in game are the culprit i'd imagine. You can get your mic to sound pretty wonky by jacking the gain all the way up or the transmit volume. May have to fiddle with that a bit. If you have mumble and the game bound to the same key (or VO in mumble) you'll also end up with an echo effect that'll make things go wonky in mumble.

It could also be a driver issue but I'd doubt that unless you've been doing some weird tinkering with your audio card/chipset.

im pretty sure i had the exact same problem (voice sounds quiet/distorted?). I cant remember exactly how i fixed it but it but try messing around with mic settings - set your mic to disable exclusive mode, disable all enhancements and make it your default communications device. then check in game to make sure it uses the same mic.

Here is general stuff to try

1) Make sure your cable is plugged in fully.

2) Make sure that your mic is set as your device.
- Right click your volume icon
- Choose recording devices
- Right click your mic, make sure its set as default and default communications device

3) Mess with your audio levels
- Right click your mic hit properties
- Go the levels tab
- Mess with the volume and gain if its an option

I fixed it! Thanks. Went to check my playback devices, clicked on my Microphone and disabled "Audio Enhancements". Works fine now!
